It was on the morning I had to reach work early, when out of nowhere a a figure loomed up beside my car and demanded what job I was doing.
"Are you a lawyer?" He demanded.
"An accountant! Why?" I enquired.
"I need some advice. Do I have to pay child support even if the mother is taking my child far away, that I would not be able to see him again?' His voice was pained this time around."
I looked him square in the eyes and asked, " What is the decent thing to do?"
He stumbled for words. So I continue, "the child is your child, is that not so? He has your heart, your blood. So tell me what is the right thing to do?"
Finally he finds his voice and says quietly with a smile on his face. " I got you!"
As he walked away from my car where I was sitting in, I hollered, "I hope your wife does the decent thing and tells the child always, you are his dad!" He did not look back.
Turniing the engine over I backed out of the yard and headed to the heart of Road Town of Nature Little Paradise. What else is there to say? But just do the decent thing!
