It is raining heavily. The sky is dark grey and it is difficult to see in the distance. About a thousand yards, away from my window I could see into the blue dark atlantic ocean, the outline of the Queen Mary II. I was glad for the rain.
Last night the thunder rumbled across the sky for what seems like forever. I had gotten up twice in the dark to go to empty the cistern. On both occasion the window pain trembled at the deep rumblings emitting out from an unknown spot just above my head.
Four thousand miles away in NY, this morning my son had gone to Syracuse on a Spanish trip. His brother meanwhile had gone to work and had called to report he had sold five warranties for Dell. He was bursting with pride on his accomplishment.
Meanwhile I was scratching my head. For weeks now we were planning on buying a used car. Unfortunately we were short about three thousand dollars. Life is tough. But the beauty about life is it is never insurmountable. Where there is a will there is always a chance of getting things done.
Now the rain is coming down even harder. I wish I was home with a book in bed drifting into fable territory. Until another day.
