Nowadays you can have your your family call you on a US telephone number anywhere in the world where you are if you have internet service available. First you will have to buy the number say from Skype for about US$60 and renew it each year for about the same price. You will also need a skype phone and "skypeout credits. As long as your internet is up and running when ever your family calls the US number your skype phone will ring. This is excellent value for money.
Yahoo also offers a similar service. Yahoo, however is cheaper than Skype.
Even better Skype to Skype is FREE. All you need is a computer and a headset or skype phone. I usually sell these (skype phones) extremely cheap.
