In addition they try to make others look bad so they can look good. The self righteous are always quick on the trigger to judge others. They put others on a guilt trip.

Jesus on the other hand says he came not to condemn, but that the world through him might be saved. Jesus lifts us out of condemnation. He lifts us out of oppression and depression. He redeems and saves us.

Jesus takes our condemnation and our robe of sin and gives us a white robe of righteousness. He forgives our past sins and covers us with his grace.

Now we have to live in a world where we are hated and despised. We are persecuted and harassed. Therefore we need pastors and brethren that can love and comfort us. Paul the apostle was a brilliant strategist. He cared and loved the churches he had established. The church at Thessalonica was troubled by the enemy, so Paul sent young Timothy to establish and comfort the believers there.

As believers in Christ, our faith is called into question everyday in some form or the other. Thus we need pastors that can rightly interpret and declare the word of God, so that we would be strengthened and comforted. So beloved let us love one another.

TRUE Religion

True religion is about love. Love for the homeless. Love for the troubled. Love for the poor.Love for sinners. Love for the rejected and scorned.

God is love. If we preach God...we must preach love. Churches struggling to grow most likely failed to demonstrate the love of God.

Therefore churches must reach out to the destitute, the widows, the fatherless, the rejects and even the rich that might be despised. And love them with a true love. Love them with the love of God. Love them unconditionally.

Talking love is never sufficient. Love has to be demonstrated. And there are many means by which we can pour our love out to the destitute and needy. Churches must have charitable programs, which can take the form of a pantry, soup kitchen, clothes distribution, etc. The form or method can be varied and combined.

As we look around our neighborhood and communities around our churches, we find so many families in need, with problems, etc; it boggles the mind. This opportunity can be readily ministered to by the churches.

A great truth pastors must believe and accept is that there are so many people who want to give and to help in charitable acts. People need just an opportunity to give and bless the poor. The pastors therefore should provide the opportunity for the givers whose ministry is to give.

Finally, once God's love is demonstrated, churches will grow. Membership will expand. And more and more families will be saved. So preach God's love and demonstrate it as well.

The choice is ours!

When we are hurt, disappointed or when we suffer losses of loved ones we can either become bitter or compassionate. Bitterness will lead us down the path of defeat and loneliness. Compassion however will lead us down the road of happiness, fulfillment and peace of mind. The people with hate and bitterness give us 911 at the world trade center. Many innocents friends and families died on that day a horrible death through the scheme of those filled with hate and bitterness. We who are alive and knows the virtue of compassion can forgive and love in return by building bridges of friendship and tolerance.

Jesus Christ the holy scriptures says on many occasions was move with compassion when he saw the plight or needs of the multitude or the individual. He in turn would heal, feed, or in some way minister to their needs. What unlimited truths we can learn form the Jesus the Son of the Living God. We all need to choose the high road of compassion and forgiveness. In return we ourselves will be forgiven and be blessed by God.

The choice is ours. When ever the bill is not paid and the line is cut, the cell phone user tend to scream , at times, obscenity at the service provider employee. And unless the bill is paid in full and at times along with a deposit, the service will not be turned on back. This is very frustrating and also a great inconvenience.

How do you resolve this?

1. Conduct most of your conversation via skype.

2. Use prepaid cell phone.

3. Make calls only when it is absolutely necessary.

4. No one knew how it happened. The priest claimed on the day in question when Mark had mysteriously disappeared, he had come to get the young child to join him on fishing trip. And lo and behold, he had found the child’s room empty, the door ajar but Mark was not there. There was no explanation. It was as if the child was snatched up in the rapture of the church.

“The boy never goes anyway alone!” the mother cried. “Who would do this to my baby?
I love him.” She began sob.

“What did the police do? I assume you report the matter or the priest did...” I said offering her a paper towel that was on the table.

“Oh. The police according to the priest came and look over the place. They found nothing. I have tried following up at the said precinct on any development. Not a word from ever since. I keep calling. They ignore me...” She began to sob again, dabbing at her eyes with the paper towel.

Jean Fizroy was about sixty years old. She had black wavy hair that flowed down her shoulder. She was medium height and solidly built for a woman her age. She exuded energy of determination as she showed a picture of her missing child.

“This is Mark on his eleventh birthday. He is a handsome boy. I must find him.” Jean lamented.

“How long ago was this?” I asked.

“Oh son, I didn’t tell you? I am sorry. This happen twenty-six years ago. Two days from today will be the twenty-sixth anniversary since he disappeared. Last month he would have celebrated his thirty-eight birthday.” She smiled through her tears.

“I am sorry.” I said. Thinking what could have really happened? Was the child kidnapped? Was he murdered? Did Mark run away? And if did, Why? Finally I said: “I wish I could help in someway.”

“I have never given up hope. He will come back someday. I will be waiting. Put his picture on the internet for me son. Can you do that?”

“Certainly! Leave the picture with me.”

She handed me the picture after kissing it ever so tenderly.

(To be continued.)

Please share this blog with your friends and family.

Thank you.

Old Archive - Guyana's fruit

Remember as kids how we use to enjoy these? Jack said, watching her full in the eyes.

"Why you say that?" She asked in a serious tone, searching his face.

They were seated in a large crowded restaurant on <st1:street><st1:address>Sheriff Street</st1:address></st1:street> in Georgetown. It was <st1:time minute="0" hour="12">midday</st1:time> and the sun was reigning in full glory. Through the open window the warm Atlantic breeze carried a salty freshness as it whipped around table cloth. Jack and Anne were both sticky from the sweltering heat.

Anne was up to her tricks. She was asking him for money again. Every time she had a money problem she came to him. The last time he was tempted to ask her if she thought he was the bank. But he had held his peace.

Jack a married man with three children, was not in a good mood. He was not going to be mincing words like he usually does. Instead he said brutally:

"I mean I am doing all these nice things for you. Treating you like an angel, all this time. And he whatever his name is, you know he is getting the hog of the beef and you want me to pay the medical bill, that don't make sense."

"You know what? You are right." Suddenly she was without a fight.

There was a silent pause.

Then Jack said, "Never mind. How could you have missed a period, even though you used a condom?"

"That's it!” Anne snapped. “I must be the most unlucky bitch in the world."

"You know something? You should not blame yourself. The condom probably had a hole. Could be the manufacturer’s fault. It happens all the time."

"Don’t be foolish. That is not possible." Anne insisted forcefully this time.

Jack persisted with his lame argument: "A friend of mine who is a medical doctor told me it happens all the time."

Anne ignored Jack Ripple and said: "It seems like my inside is inflamed. I am worried about HIV as well. It is not just the dizziness. I am beginning to feel pain."

"So you want to borrow some money?" Jack asked reaching out his right hand and resting on top of hers on the table, as he gently rubs the top of her hands with his thumb.

"No. Give me. I don't want to pay back. I have too much financial problems.”

To be continued...

You have the key in your hands!

We have got the key to ALL we need in life! Then began to add water so as to form a reasonable bread like dough. Allow to rest for 15 minutes. Then break dough into 4 to 6 pieces depending on what size of roti you want.

Then using a rolling pin place one piece of the broken dough at a time and roll it into a round roti shape form. Then take a small amount of oil and rub it on surface. Afterwords from any midway point of the flattened dough cut across to the end witha knife or your index finger, then taking the left end began to roll it tightly into a cone shape form. Now press both ends inwards into the middle. Place in bowl and allow to soak for another 20 minutes. Complete the rest of dough in a similar manner.

After it has been soaked for about 20 to 30 minutes get ready to start cooking on a tawwa or large flat cooking pan. Allow the cooking pan ( or tawwa) to be reasonable hot.

Take one of the oiled coned shape dough and roll with the rolling pin into a roti shape, then place on hot surface of pan and turn over in about 5 to 10 seconds. Now with a brush rub oil on the surface. Turnover the roti and repeat.

Take off from stove and clap it hot for about 30 seconds with your hands. Cook the rest of the oiled dough in the same manner.

Eat hot with your eggplant choka.

Are we in the end times?

Are we living in the end times? Is the world really coming to an end? What will it be like? What does the scientists have to say about the end times? How does this contrast with what God has to say? What am I suppose to do?

Some say the planet Mars will crash into our earth, others say a large meteorite will crash into the earth around 2012. Still others say nuclear weapons will destroy the entire earth?

What does the bible say: 2 Peter 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fervent heat, and the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. ( taken from http://bibletab.com/h/heat.htm)

What signs should we look for to confirm these are the last days? What about the mark of the beast? Is the RFID chip being pushed to be implanted in our bodies the mark of the beast described as 666? Is the world heading for a trade collapse?

What about the anti-christ? Where will he come from? What will he be doing? Should we obey him? Will he destroy Israel?

There are so many questions. What we know for sure however, is that all the signs do point to the end times...So we should seek to make our lives right with Almighty God. I am not going to tell you how to make the roti, but if you need to know feel free to email me at persaudanthony@yahoo.com.

What you need for the choka?

1 large eggplant (the younger the better)
1-2 wiri wiri pepper chopped finely
1 large tomato
4 cloves garlic peeled
1/4 finely chopped onion
1 ounce of butter
salt to taste
2 table spoon olive oil. (Not necessary though)

Method:

Puncture the eggplant at different angles about four times and stuff the peeled garlic into it. Place the eggplant and tomato to roast over open flames by resting it on a mesh or suitable device. If you don't have a gas range place on mesh/ wire tray in electric oven about 400 degrees. Cooked for an hour to two and turn every half of an hour or as necessary.

Next peel the skin off the eggplant when it is roasted properly and if there is too much seed in the eggplant scoop out some of it out and discard with the skin. Peel skin off the tomato and add the peeled tomato on top of the eggplant in a bowl. Add the pepper, salt butter, onion and olive oil. Then take a fork and mashed everything together thoroughly until there is no solid pulp.

Serve hot with the hot roti (preferably the oil roti).

Enjoy. But don't overeat like me.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://realisticliving.blogspot.com/2009/07/balanjay-choka-eggplant-roasted-mmmmm.html' title='Balanjay Choka (eggplant roasted) MMMmm!!! She is great at cooking it. I am not sure if there is another name for it, but from since a kid I have known it as "Kittree". Here is the recipe for kittree.

1/2 (half) onion

4 or 5 fegs of garlic

1/2 large pepper or about 3 wiri wiri pepper (gives great flavor)

2 lbs cut up chicken

1 and 1/2 pint rice (brown)

3/4 pint of split peas (yellow peas)

black pepper to taste

Fine leaf thyme to taste

about 1/2 stem fine chopped celery.

1/2 (half) stick butter.

Cut onion , garlic and pepper in to small pieces and fry same in a small amount of oil. Stir until garlic and onion appears to be getting brown. Add 2 pints of water and bring to boil. Then add split peas to pot and boil for 15 minutes. Add rice and allow to boil for 20 minutes.

In the meanwhile you can fry the cut up chicken without or with seasoning to your taste, in another pot. After the rice has boiled for the 20 minutes as suggested above, add the fried up chicken to it. Add the celery, the black pepper, the butter, and the fine leaf thyme. Stir and allow to cook for another 10 to 15 minutes. (You can always add water to ensure the rice is totally cooked. )

Serve hot or stale. But in Guyana it what we call "cook-up" The name itself is a give way. Meaning you can almost add "anything" to this pot as it boils.

What you really need to cook this fantastic meal?

1 large onion
4 fegs garlic
Pepper to your likeness ( one whole pepper for me is enough)
2 lbs beef (with bone is good) or chicken (or simply fry fish and eat on top of cook-up when done)
1 and 1/2 pints rice
2 tablespoon cassareep
Salt to taste
Fine leaf thyme/married man poke (don't know the real name)
1/2 stick butter
2 tins black eye
1 tin Channa (chick peas)

Cut up in small pieces garlic, onion and pepper and fry in hot oil. Add cassareep whilst frying seasoning. Then add 4 pints of water and beef. ( some folks like to fry meat in seasoning before adding water. Fry chicken separately before adding to cook-up pot.) add salt and fine leaf thyme.

Pressure, if it is beef or boil until tender. Then add rice. When rice near finish cooking add butter. Also add the black eye and channa at least 10 minutes before cook up is finish cooking.

Serve hot. And if so what type of system would be good for our world today? Would this new suggestion(s) be able to prevent the current and regular financial collapse that is going on Wall street and around many parts of the world today?

What about an economic system with little emphasis on profitability?

What about a system that penalize jobs out sourcing and rewards localization of jobs?

What about big corporations providing more and more public services usually left for government to do?

Look at it from the perspective of how the churches provide education at many levels including from primary to tertiary and still do so to this day in an excellent manner. Of course education has also been supplemented by the government as well. Thus it is possible for government and private institutions to cooperate and work together.

What about corporations using 40% of their profitability for development of communities, pay 40 % of it as taxes and reward shareholders 20% of its profitability?

Think about this.

If you have read this blog and would like to comment please feel free to do so.

How Important is Prayer?

PITS -Pray In The Spirit.

And always Pray in the Spirit (PITS) on all occasions, with all prayers and request...As believers we should always be praying, whether we are on the mountain tops or in the pits way down in the valley, our hearts should be crying out to the Almighty God, under all circumstances, for God to hear, forgive our sins and heal our land. And this is exactly what God wants to do, for he said: If my people which are called by name, will humble themselves, and pray, seek my face and turned from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and forgive their sins and heal their land.

This is indeed an amazing thing that God wants to do. However it hinges on us first doing four things: 1) Humble ourselves, 2) Pray, 3) Seek his face, and 4) Turn from our wicked ways, then God will do three things 1) Hear from heaven, 2) Forgive our sins, and 3) Heal our land. As we reflect on this we can easily see how fundamentally important prayer is before God will do anything, for our benefits and the benefits of others as well.

We always need to bear in mind that we should first examine our own life to unshackle any pride, so that we can bring ourselves into a state of humility before we commence our journey of walking with God in prayer. Pride is a major deterrent of God's presence, and as we know, this was the downfall of Lucifer the chief angel in heaven, which resulted in his expulsion from heaven along with one third of the angels that followed him. Having said that, we should understand that pride will hinder our prayers and prevent God from hearing us.

After we have eliminated any pride in our lives and have humble ourselves, we should then commence our prayer journey. We can pray about any and everything, anytime, anywhere and for how long we may wish or have the strength to do. The most effective prayers are not only those done in a spirit of humility, but those done in the spirit of fasting and on our knees. For success in our prayers however, and like anything else in life, such as in our academic careers, there must be consistency, such as when we study at a fix times, we should be praying at a fix time on a daily basis. When we do this we will witness the manifest greatness and awesomeness of a great and merciful mighty God.

Following our prayers, we can wait on God and seek his face for direction on what to do and where to go, and to accomplish God's will for our live in spreading his message of love and hope for all mankind, irregardless of our religious persuasions. God has encouraged us to seek his face, for he knows how discouraging and complex this world is, we are living in today, and how frail and insignificant we feel at times, so that He almighty God can intervene to bless us in all ways possible. A chief characteristic required in our lives, if we will seek the face of God, would be our determination, no matter what that natural instinct may tell us.

Finally a major requirement mentioned by God was that we should all turn from our wicked ways. We must recognize that we are all sinners who have fallen short of God's glory, and therefore we need to understand that God in his mercy and love, has made abundant provision for the forgiveness of our sin, through the death and resurrection of his son Jesus. We are weak when it comes for us to turn from our sins by ourselves in our own strength, therefore God has made abundant provision, where if we confess our sins to his son Jesus Christ and ask his mercy and forgiveness he will lovingly do so.

When we do all the above, not only will God hear us when we PRAY, but he will FORGIVE our sins, and HEAL our land.

Hopefully I can write more on the last paragraph above, at a later date.

God bless you for reading and sharing this.

Anthony Persaud

Bucking The Horse

Sometimes it is much easier and better to go along with the acceptable standards, than to buck the horse an d be branded as off the wire by those who may disagree with your style of thinking and operation. However to sometimes solve some types of problems it may require of us to get off the bandwagon of the common options and come up with something either completely new or even unorthodox. This of course will set you up for an onslaught of cruel attacks, on you as a person and not the issue on hand.

For example one area, if you may be wondering what I am writing about, would be the question on how to solve the Palestinian and Israeli conflicts. The usual solution suggested is two state solution, or as some Arabs want the destruction of the Israelis by driving them into the sea. And even though the latter is not an option, the former is not totally irrelevant. However I don't think even after a two state solution is reached, the demands by the Arabs or Palestinians will cease.

Now the unusual solution for the Palestinians and Israelis conflicts I would like to suggest is the removal of the Palestinians completely from the Gaza Strip and the West Bank and resettle them in the other Arab countries such as Saudi Arabia, Egypt, etc. and grant them citizenship of these countries they are settled in. And if this idea seems ludicrous at first, think of all the millions that have settled in the USA the greatest country on earth.

So post your comments for a healthy discussion.

A New Corporate System

This is an idea that I want to explore but which I have not given extensive thought process to. It might be viewed as a radical shift from the old profit system which usually ties up large amount capital by few shareholders, and limits genuine all round progress that can benefit the wider society as a whole at a lower cost. Therefore this idea would need a lot of fine tuning as I go along to explore this whole new concept.

First the real purpose of corporations is not to so much perform services or provide products for the benefit of societies but rather to provide returns on investment by shareholders so as to benefit these risk takers. This point I suppose is arguable as some may want to construe that the real purposes of corporations is to provide services and products for the benefit of societies. However since managers or owners are more concerned with profit making and may possibly in an effort to make profit, do so at any cost!

Now the idea I want to explore is that only an agreed percentage such as about ten percent should be paid to shareholders or owners of the business and the balance of the so called profits should be invested into the societies such as in cheaper housing and other necessary infrastructures. This idea may seem ludicrous at first but if given serious thoughts, one would realize that if business are run on the principle that its returns should benefit the people as a whole with a better quality and standard of living. Then countries can begin to see a genuine eradication of poverty, crimes, deceases that has plagued this earth we are living on, and genuine progress in every continent.

Where there is no vision...

Old politics

A majority of Guyanese are tired of the old politics, involving the trumpeting of the race card, destabilization of the country, ratcheting up of old lies, and reinventing of the wheel. Assuming we have someone who comes up with several visions, then how do we fulfill these visions?

Whilst waiting for someone to come forward and share their vision I will begin by indicating what I consider to be of foremost concern to me. I believe it is time that the television talk show hosts in Guyana urgently get their acts together. Many of these hosts have used the airwaves to spew their venom to create divisions and hate in our society.

Nevertheless, somehow I feel these individual and other TV personalities have tremendous potential to offer the Guyanese public something more substantive than the same old poisonous crap over and over. It is possible to promote unity, harmony and educational programs that can promote the stars, musicians, writers, sports persons, businesses and outstanding students and citizens of our great country.

Should these TV hosts then seek to promote peace and harmony over the airwaves then businesses should seek to sponsor such programs and encourage its refinement. Advertisements should be poured into these channels to help provide finance for the station and further encourage even greater expansion of such programs across the country.

Another important vision that I would like to share and which I believe should be given urgent attention is the expansion of independent radio and television channels in our country. Somehow the media association needs to get its acts together and promote a healthy TV, radio and press and not for the employees in these areas to politicize everything as has been going on for sometime now. There must be much more to the media than politicizing.

Broadcasting legislations along with independent commissions should be urgently established to prevent inflammatory talk show host from cropping up across the country and huge fines should be instituted against the channels who allow such programs to be broadcasted. Fair and balanced disciplinary actions should be taken against individuals also who use the airwaves or press to cause incitement and cause destabilization in the country.

Let me indicate clearly that I cannot write to cover all the visions I have in one go. So in my next article I hope to cover the archaic laws and legal system being executed in our country. I would really appreciate it if any of you reading this and would like to make any suggestion, contribution or share your own visions; to feel free to kindly include in your own articles or emails; in what I hope to be a healthy discussion.

AP

Which is better?

Business versus education? He is suffering from diabetes and has two damaged kidneys. Three times a week he has to have his blood washed. These days he still does the same thing he was doing when he was healthy. And that is lay around in a comfy sofa playing games on a television screen or on his computer.

Lack of adequate exercise! This I believe is the most grievous health problem facing us in the United States of America today. Poor eating habits also compound this problem like ten fold. Whilst it is good that apparatus are being developed to simplify life or minimize the use of time, what this actually does is take away the manual labor which is healthy for us.

Most sickness today stems from the lack of inadequate exercise. Therefore there should be the development of products that can force us to burn the calories we keep packing layers by layers into our system. If we are cooped up for about nine months in a year, then the products should be developed to be used in door. Construction of housing, including apartments should cater for this.

Currently we have a treadmill, but since we live in such a poorly constructed apartment building we cannot use it, as we do not want to disturb the tenants below us. So we are trapped into eating and stay cooped up just watching TV or surfing the internet. Thus the weight around the waistline keeps bulging more and more.

So unless outdoor facilities for the public are incorporated into the city council budget we will continue to have more and more sick folks to care for from a very tender age. Patients should have compulsory exercise schedules. Healthy folks should enjoy doing manual things. For instance purchase a couple a solid pieces of log and use an axe to chop it up. Think of other manual projects. Paint a neighbor house.

If we burn the excess calories we will stay healthy for a very very long time.

Housing Crisis

These days obtaining a mortgage or loan from a lending institution is like hoping for a snow day in summer. After submitting the initial application a month may pass and still the loan specialist keeps asking questions, without any clearcut assurance about even the pre-approval of the loan.

The whole crisis seems mired in a clouded maze. Requirements to qualify for a loan range from having at least two years credit history to as far off as having at least twenty percent of the cost of the property being negotiated. What makes matter worst is some schools are teaching for AP classes that during this housing crisis, it is easier to get a mortgage.

What is really noticeable during this period however is that houses are not selling as much as in the past. Many real estate agents are going under. The only business that seems to doing really good now are the debt collecting agencies. The housing market therefore need a quick infusion of cash to facilitate all categories of buyers.

The prices for many houses has been inflated to make a killing in many areas. The crisis has has led a to a deflation of these balloon prices. And that is a positive thing for the poor. Hopefully the laws will be rewritten to manage the lending institutions to simplify the lending process and protect the borrower.

AP

Marriage Tyrade

"Get the money! First you will have to buy the number say from Skype for about US$60 and renew it each year for about the same price. You will also need a skype phone and "skypeout credits. As long as your internet is up and running when ever your family calls the US number your skype phone will ring. This is excellent value for money.

Yahoo also offers a similar service. Yahoo, however is cheaper than Skype.

Even better Skype to Skype is FREE. All you need is a computer and a headset or skype phone. I usually sell these (skype phones) extremely cheap.

For further information please contact me at: persaudanthony@yahoo.com

Loose Talk.

Choose what you can handle. Don't go over bounds and harm yourself. Bite what you can chew. These are all sayings to caution those men who want women that are too hot to handle. These are basically women who demands 50/50 or eye for eye in everything. At that rate you will certainly die early.

These women have unrealistic ideals, such as the husbands should cook one meal and they will cook the next meal. Husbands should do laundry one day and they will do the next. And so on. Everything must be split equally. Planning is essential for success as oxygen is to living. Businesses that are growing and spreading has at their core both short term and long term plans. Sometimes the plan is called a budget. And it is usually for one year (short term) or five years (long term).

In a long term plan income and expenditure is budgeted for the next five years. Possible sources of income is determined. Sales, production, etc are all taken into consideration. Marketing strategies are developed. Policies and other strategies are established. Expansion and growth into different locations are incorporated into management long term plans. Then capable staff are hired to implement and execute these projects.

Similarly in an individual life also there need to be plans not just for current issues but long term goals as well. Planning for a house, a car, a computer, a home theater, etc all need careful consideration, in light of priority and current and future resources. Spending should be done with careful deliberation and perhaps consultation over a period of time. It should not be a spur of the moment thing.

I have seen businesses that failed because there is a owner/ manager that spends at the spur of the moment. I have seen people who lost everything because of trivial decisions concerning spending. So treat your money with respect. Plan carefully. And success will walk by your side.

And remember haphazard spending will cause haphazard results.

Send comment: Persaudanthony@yahoo.com

Is There A Better Way To Success?

Two weeks to exam. It has been a hard long road to climb. But somewhere down the stretch is a glimmer of light. It will grow brighter with each passing day, I hope. As the saying goes, gold is purified through fire. And all hardship and endless work put into the churner will come hopefully success. Again I hope so.

But is the above really true in a true sense? Or is there a better way? Do we have to toil for so long and hard to enjoy success? What are our alternatives? Do we really need an American dream to enjoy life? How do we define success? What is real happiness?

Do we really need such a big house, such a large TV, such an expensive car? Will something less costly fulfill the same requirement as the so costly? Would our lives not be better without the burdens of liability?

Imagine for thirty years tied up in debts and constantly nagging bills that wearies your soul? How much frustration will you broadside on your loved ones? What neglect of quality time with your offspring do to your health? When will it all stop?

Certainly there is a better way.

Strike a balance!

to continue.

Email: Persaudanthony@yahoo.com

Marriage Possible? After Age 35?

What is the most difficult thing to do? Yeah go ahead say it aloud.

You are right? Deciding to get marry after the age of thirty-five and choosing the right person and then going through with it before changing your mind for the umteenth time. Mmm! Yes it is that difficult! It is like rocket science.

Look around you and see how many single folks are still waiting to tie the knots and are over age thirty-five. Many names comes readily to mind. Why are they still single and lonely? Is it their looks? Or is it something that happened earlier in their lives? Lets continue.

At thirty-five most persons are already set in their ways, especially in making certain decisions and doing things a certain way. But marriage requires compromises. Changing sleeping habits, shopping, alone time, tv time, etc. It means compromises! What a dirty word!

Even worst than the above some feel threatened financially! No gold digger was going to come into their lives and rob them in high daylight! Nobody was going to take away their houses, lands, cars, and empty their bank account. Anybody coming into their life had to come with equal footings if not even better.

Now realistically most over the thirty five age persons who are not married, are single and still looking for that person that fit the hypothetical "wealthy, well off, educated career image." And both sexes continue to insist on the right factors or combination of factors to get to the altar.

Lets look at the reasons men put forward for not really getting married to women:

1. Women over thirty five most likely would be bringing their baggages. (kids, financial needs, etc)
2. Washed up. Whatever that means.
3. Disrespectful.
4. Refuse to cook and clean.
5. Want to continue to act as if still single.
6. Uncontrollable

Lets look at the reasons women put forward for not wanting to get married to men:

1. Men must own houses.
2. Must have good jobs.
3. Must have healthy bank accounts.
4. Must be romantic.
5. Be controllable.
6. Be faithful.

Well, well. In fact all the reasons put forward are mere excuse for really not getting married. And this is because of inbred insecurities. Lots of these folks comes from broken homes. In many instances their homes were very abusive. And this translates itself into a cycle. Self esteem and self confidence is rock bottom.

In closing one should note that"if there are no pre-unrealistic conditions" marriage will take place faster. So get out of your box and the next thing that comes along get "cosy" and "hooked-up!"

Email your comments to persaudanthony@yahoo.com or post it on blog.

<link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://realisticliving.blogspot.com/2007/11/marriage-possible-after-age-35.html' title='Marriage Possible? She lives in a home where the mother has little or no interest in the child's education. Worst they are dirt poor. This little girl often misses school, due to the fact the mother sends her down the streets to sell certain items to make ends meet.

One day all this was changed.

The plight of this little girl was described to a few persons. Then one day British Virgin Island Citizen volunteered to sponsor this smart little girls education and to aid in her welfare. Now this child is attending a private school, and all her school supplies are being met. She is excelling!

So hope for mankind is not totally lost. Help in the form of our brothers keeper still exist. Doing good is still part of our traits.

There are still hundreds of children like this today in Guyana. Reach out in whatever way you can and become a candle in the dark to such a child. A woman use to pride herself in her husband and vice versa. Children use to fear adults and conduct themselves in the most respectful of ways, around grown-ups.

But nowadays it is a dog's world. Yapping and barking everywhere. Husbands and wives pretend to be in love, but just hanging in there to see who dies first. The material possessions has created monsters of beauty. And the clock is watched constantly as the days ticked by.

Women no longer need men in their lives, except as guinea pigs to cage. One person in fact has put it that men are now domesticated creatures for women to lord over. Whatever the conclusions, men has become wimps, who like jelly fish bow to pressure in order to stem disgruntlement and problems.

Women has been abused till, even when good comes along it appears distorted. And so sleeping with different men is just formality. There is no perception between nobility and esteem and disrespect. So now good women are pushed by friends to do things that will destroy a happy marriage.

The cycle get more and more vicious. There is this couple I know, where the wife so hate the husband and claims she prays for him to die. The husband who at forty-five prides himself as a ladies' man, boast of all the eighteen years old girls he is the sugar daddy for. In fact he dreads going home to his nagging wife. Well she claims she does not get any sex at home so she has to get it on the street. So the fight continues.

No one wants to leave the house and start fresh. The sky is dark grey and it is difficult to see in the distance. About a thousand yards, away from my window I could see into the blue dark atlantic ocean, the outline of the Queen Mary II. I was glad for the rain.

Last night the thunder rumbled across the sky for what seems like forever. I had gotten up twice in the dark to go to empty the cistern. On both occasion the window pain trembled at the deep rumblings emitting out from an unknown spot just above my head.

Four thousand miles away in NY, this morning my son had gone to Syracuse on a Spanish trip. His brother meanwhile had gone to work and had called to report he had sold five warranties for Dell. He was bursting with pride on his accomplishment.

Meanwhile I was scratching my head. For weeks now we were planning on buying a used car. Unfortunately we were short about three thousand dollars. Life is tough. But the beauty about life is it is never insurmountable. Where there is a will there is always a chance of getting things done.

Now the rain is coming down even harder. I wish I was home with a book in bed drifting into fable territory. Until another day.

CHILD SUPPORT

It was on the morning I had to reach work early, when out of nowhere a a figure loomed up beside my car and demanded what job I was doing.

"Are you a lawyer?" Hard work never kills, as some would have us believe. Rather it enables one to quickly climb the ranks of promotion and favor. The rewards for hardwork are too numerous to be listed, nevertheless let me hasten to add, increases in salary, promotions, responsibility, positions of trust, friendship, respect, favors, etc.

Other factors to be embraced by the new energetic workforce in this culture of hard work are focus, commitment, speed and accuracy. "garbage shopping" is buying stuff that after two days is discarded and becomes useless. At the time of shopping it seems like a good deal and that you really needed that item. But shortly afterwards, you discover that you really "don't need it."

Bear in mind your impulsive behavior lulls into believing you need to buy things that you really don't need. This type of behavior makes you the spender feels good. But this kind of effects (highs)wears off very quickly. And before long you become a habitual spender on un-neccessary things. Your hard earned incomes is slowly drained like a wrsit slashed.

Garbage shopping always seemed uncostly because it is merely a few bucks. Your mind works in a way that makes you think that somebody, perhaps a child need this and that. That is not true. Garbage shopping over a few weeks can run into thousands. This can have a detrimental affect on your dreams and other more meaningful goals.

So next time you feel the need for a high, take a walk in the park. Its free and you will be more healthy.

Smart Shopping

Seek advice before making the final decision on any electronic purchases. The mere fact that such details has been there for so many thousand of years and is now being discovered is chilling to the core of the bone. A question I keep asking myself is how intelligent is this Intelligent Being we called God that he can encode stuff for thousand of years some of which has been fulfilled and yet there are many, many more to be fulfilled?

I will not attempt to tell you all the codes discovered so far that Paul has in his book, but I can tell you this, the codes discovered so far are not only mind boggling but a fearful revelation. And even if you are not a believer of God, these codes will have a sobering effect on your mind. (the discoverers are being converted to Christ). Many past and even present events relating to individuals and places, such as the twin tower, George Bush, Osama Bin Laden, assassination of Israel Prime Minister Rabin, etc. are all encoded in the holy scriptures (the bible).

Now having said that it brings me to the point, where I want to ask can we discover codes that deals with future issues and seek the face of an Almighty merciful God in an effort to avoid his judgement. And the answer is yes! Although Jesus the Son of God issued a lenghty projection on what the end times will be like in the four Gospels I do believe there are some shocking codes yet to be discovered in these accounts. I urge the experts to dive in. Tell us quickly what you have found.

Meanwhile may we all heed the actual scriptures and not wait on the codes to convert us.

House or mouse?

Late one night during last week my wife scolded me for being a material freak. In no uncertain terms she let me know I was spending uncontrollably. She claimed I was engaged in buying too much stuff that the children had no time to make use of. (some stuff were still unopened). She insisted I was wasteful. For a response I directed her to my blog (realisticliving.blogspot.com) but as usual reading was too laborious for her. So my son did the honors of reading to her an earlier blog I had posted, "Are You A Deceived Spender". Before he could finish reading, my wife interrupted, emphasising loudly I needed that more than her.

The crux of the whole matter was we did not own a house but was spending on unnecessary stuff. For years now we had been talking and planning to buy a house. But this was like the an elusive dream, that the greedy collusive capitalist were trying to bury. Not having a house was the root cause for several unwanted flare ups in our home. I got try harder.

The week before my wife insisted I was "reliving my childhood" in my children because I had bought a dragonfly helicopter for one of my son. Well where did that come from I could not tell. It had me thinking. Reliving my childhood. Was not a bad idea. Let sleeping dogs lie.

So I decided that I was going to tighten up the screws! Cut down on the expensive lunches. Stop visiting my favorite web sites that usually wakes me up in the night, telling me about "free shipping" and "clearance sale". I was going to stop shopping online and elsewhere, period. I had to do it.

I was going to spend my time in a more worthwhile manner studying for my CPA exams. But even then with my books sprawled open in front of my wide open eyes, in came this loud yahoo flash, like a boom to my brain ...HD DVD was now selling at...What? My mind was too bombarded with buying stuff. Any stuff. Get a grip of yourself I warned myself. Think about the house your family needed.

Anyway I have to run. My head feels like it throbbing.

The Shadow Man

The Shadow man is there in the home with his wife and kids. He moves about, eats, works and acts like a zombie. He shrugs at everything hurled his way. He appears as if he is always deep in thought.

He is never confrontational. He doesn't argue or stand up for what he believes in. He gives the impression he is fearful of the outcome of his actions or what he might say, so the shadow man is immobilized and weak.

On the other hand his children disrespect him, curses him, treats him like he is a kid. The wife worst yet, walks all over him. She goes and comes as she likes. For weeks on ends she disappears and turns up suddenly and the shadow man swallows quietly whatever she says was her excuse for being away. All he does in these times is to walk out of the door and into the yard and away from reality.

Shadow man forks up all his money to his wife and helps with the shopping, etc. But everything shadow man ever owned belongs to his wife. The car, motor bike, household items, they all belongs to her. Shadow man is a good provider but he is just a shadow. He seems to exist only in theory. But yet he is real!

His wife is infuriated. She cannot stomach nor stand shadow man. She hates him. In fact she despises him. He lacks backbone. He is gutless. He does not bring down his foot on matters like other men would and the way she wants him to. Oh how she wishes for him to be a man. But shadow man would not rise to the occasion.

And now more and more with the passing of time shadow man's wife loathes him. She would have left him long ago for his indifference, except for the fact shadow man was her financier. In her quiet moments mere thoughts of him enraged her.

Long and hard she had thought that the final solution was to walk away from all. Leave shadow man to decay into into his own shadows.

But she could not! He was only a shadow.

Shadow men are now cropping up in many homes in America. Are you one one of them? Stand up and be counted, not as a shadow man but as a real man.

When You Think...

It is uncomforting to think you are the one that always seems to have the odds stacked against you. Poor you. Only if you had been rich, or if you had this or that, or if you were smart, or your parents were different, then things would have been different, in fact better. Is this really so? You groaned and complained other folks seems to have all the luck and breaks in the world. Things always going other people way. Why is that so?

Complaining and pitying yourself is your biggest enemies. You are not unlucky. You are not alone in this world to have faced a few stepping stones in your path. Besides you are not alone in this world of complicated economic systems. So the question is how have others managed to triumph in the face of adversity, struggles and harsh difficulties. What are their secrets? Is it possible for you to triumph now, at this stage of your life and be successful?

There is a simple saying, garbage in, garbage out! Translate this to mean what you formulate your life to be is what it will produce. Simplify further, is what your mind conceived as a concept to living, based on what you feed or program it to believing, is what it (your life) will generate. Simply put, change your concepts, life style, mind set, and you would be on your way to having the lucky breaks, success, etc.

Now say with me, "I am blessed. I am prosperous. I am smart. I am intelligent. I seem to have all the lucky breaks. I enjoy living! It is good to be alive! God is with me." Program your mind with these thoughts and watch God do some amazing stuff for you. Remember to give God the glory though. Isn't it amazing how wonderful and creative our minds that God give us, can be when we allow it to flourish on healthy thoughts?

Go spread joy!

Are You A Deceived Spender

Material stuff who needs it?
Oh yeah, you need a new car, you need a larger house, you need a new computer, you need...you need...and so it goes.
Lulling you into believing you need a host of material stuff to be happy, the greedy capitalist injects your minds with a steady dose of advertisements and collusive writers. And after a while you become numb in differentiating between what is reality and myth. So you become a spendaholic.
Drugged into believing you need cheap things, the "dollars stores", "close out sales" "clearance", etc. keep up the daily onslaughts on your mind. Spending brings you euphoric "highs" that wears off by the time you get home. Then the real frustrations kicks in and you spew vile adjectives at your spouse and children. Your anger churns up a steady cauldron of hate for every little issue.
Everyday leads you to more frustrations as you become more and more indebted and poorer. But there is no turning back, you have already swallowed hook, line and sinker.
What can you do?
Step back and recognize that you were deceived into believing you needed "stuff" that you really did not need. Recognized a trick was played on your mind. And you were duped, drugged and lulled into believing you needed stuff to make you happy, when in fact that was a LIE!
You don't need stuff to make you happy.
Your family is your real source of happiness. Time with God will bring you indescribable joy. Quality time with friends will help you to be wholesome and relaxed.
Find things to do to make others happy.
Plant a garden. Paint a house or draw a picture.
Become part of a charitable organization.
Think of something good to say to someone.
Finally give away what you have got to the needy! STOP the spending, and watch your live gets better and better, debt free! You DON'T need "all" material things to be happy or to make your family happy. Just spend time with your family. Go for a walk. And you and your family will be happy!

Prayer - Does It Really Work

Does praying to an invisible God really works? Does God care? Is God interested in what you have to say? Will God answer and do something tangible about what you have prayed for?

Have you been praying for years without results? What specifically have you prayed for that God did not do something about?

God answers prayers! He heals the sick! He provides for the needy! He opens doors of wealth and prosperity. He is a Father to the fatherless. And above all God is interested in you as a person.

Are you suffering from pain, loneliness, despair. Are you anxious for something? Are you looking for educational success? Are you trying to find satisfaction?

Perhaps you need to first address the void in your heart, that has all these years been silently crying out for God. Allow Jesus into your heart, and then watch the miracles flow.

Prayer works. Be bold! Have someone pray for you.

Chemistry - The Right Kind

Whether divine input has something to do with it, or not, I don't know, but some husbands and wives just seem to have this right chemistry about them, that everything they do in life, seems to strike that perfect cord. There love making for instance leaves both satisfied, fullfilled and happy.

Whereas with some husbands and wives, discontent from their love making spreads over to the other areas of their lives, resulting in constant bickering and quarelling over little or nothing at all. Their lack of chemistry sometimes translates into violent confrontations, or passive reactions, leading to further frustrations and unhappiness. And the real issue of their chemistry is ignored.

So the question is how do you strike or find the right chemistry. What is the formula? What do you look for in a person? Is compatability the main ingredient? Does physical height has anything to do with it? Or is it attitude that plays a greater roll in striking the right key? Should a believe system be taken into account?

Well some of the above are essential, in striking the right chemistry. Characteristics such as attitude, tolerance, compromises, etc. are fundamental qualities needed. Being sensual, seductive, passionate, emotional, bold, open minded are additional qualities needed to fine tune the formula. So when your spouse wants to explore new ideas, don't get uptight and mean, but be a willing experimentor if the act is wholesome.

Indeed it will take chemistry to keep you satisfied. So work on the formula. Who knows you might have already have the right combinations. Go for it!

BEST BBQ - BABY BACK

Ever wondered why some BBQ taste so good that you wish you can make it as good as that? Add at the beginning, all your seasoning that you like, such as garlic, onion, spices, pepper, etc. After 1/2 of an hour drain the water and put ribs on your grill. Allow both sides of the ribs to cook before applying your sauce. Soon as you apply your sauce twice take off immediately.

YUM. Scout around and see who is offering you the best rates, deals, etc. And make your money work for you.

Congradulations you are on your way to being a millionaire.

Be The Man

Nowadays more women are demanding their men step up to the plate and be a man. Women are fed up with jellyfish type like behaviours from their men, and are demanding that their men show some backbone. You would hear women saying things to weak men like, "stop being a weasel!" "Come on be a man." "Show me what you are made of."

So it is up to the men to stop thinking that being "yes man" will make your woman loves you. Be a leader in your house. Set the pace. Ask for your woman 's contribution. Do some "yard" work. Stop being a jelly belly lying in front of your television accumulating "tyres".

Men don't be sissies! Women hate sissies. Men have you ever heard the term "eye-pass"? It is a another phrase for disrespect. Your woman will disrespect you if you act like "sissie". Act like you are wearing the pants the pants in the house. Lay down the legislation in your home. Rules are neccessary for a successful relationship.

Men your woman wants you to be strong. She needs a strong shoulder to lean on. Be there for her. Love and respect her. Cherish and crush her with love. Be the man!

No Pie In The Sky

I hate fat. It prevents a person from being mobile and fit. But I like looking lean and mean. No tires around the waist for me. So I exercise two three times per a day. Even in the hot Caribbean sun during my lunch hour in the middays. Running, push-ups and abdominals. Nowadays I even get a ball and throw it against my bedroom wall and catch it. Sometimes I even dove the ball like a soccer player.

So now I am beginning to slim down. Good gosh I am loosing weight. I am beginning to look tall and gangly.

Contrast that with those who eats large portions of food, coupled with chocolate, icecream, etc. and claims they want to look slim. Balderdash! There is no reality about that. No pie in the sky talk. Put your money where your mouth is. Walk the dream rather than talk it.
